Comfort with billing software and terminology. Ability to be accurate and detailed with numbers, entries and postings. Ability to maintain the highest of confidentiality with respect to financial records. Have effective writing and communication skillsESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Processes payments for services and accurately posts/enters information into various data bases and programsCompiles and prepares requested reports for managers/supervisorsMaintains knowledge of all current procedures, laws, regulations, standards and technology related to the billing industryPerforms billing or posting related functions as assigned by supervisorResearches patient insurance information and updates billing informationPosts payments to accounts receivablesPursues collection of denied claims until claims are paidMaintains continuing education through academic studies, seminars, and workshopsAttends and participates in in-services and staff meetingsProtects privacy rights and maintain confidentially of company records and of clients' patients. Protects trade secrets, confidentiality and information of employer and clientsCompletes all documentation in an accurate and legible mannerComplies with all policies and procedures, laws and regulations and standards of practice or employer and employer's clientsPerforms other tasks as may be assigned
