Summary:
To render highly professional and technological performance of echocardiograms, carotid doppler studies, and/or transesophageal echos. Provides quality diagnostic and therapeutic care to achieve the highest standards of care specific to the age of the patient.

Responsibilities:
Patients and their families are served by providing quality diagnostic testing. Performs duties and conducts interpersonal relationships in a manner designed to project a positive image of the department and hospital. Ensure that contacts with physicians and other customers are conducted in a manner that displays superior customer service skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT


  • High school graduate or equivalent. Background in related healthcare field (Cardiopulmonary or Ultrasound preferred)
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
  • Two years experience in an Ultrasound field preferred.
LICENSURE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION Registered Ultrasound tech preferred; also prefer license by the state of North Carolina as a Respiratory Care Practitioner. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS Good interpersonal and communication skills, working knowledge of VCR functions, math skills, anatomy and physiology of heart and related areas. Strong customer service focus. BCLS training required. Demonstrated understanding of patient care needs according to the developmental stages for various age groups. WORK ENVIRONMENT Exposure to bloodborne pathogens and other infectious diseases, requiring the use of personal protective equipment. Call back required as outlined by the CPS Manager. Subject to stressful work periods. Contact with cleaning agents, chemicals and some toxic chemicals may also required use of PPE. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Walking and standing, sitting, pushing the Echo/Vascular machine up and down hallways, turning patients and assisting them from one place to another, as well as, moving rooms around in order to make room for Echo/Vascular machine.
