Description: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Technical Agile Architecture Review Board Lead to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in multi-cloud environments, coupled with extensive experience in Agile methodologies and architectural review processes. This role will play a critical part in ensuring the robustness, scalability, and security of our cloud solutions, while also driving continuous improvement and innovation within our architecture practices.
  • High performing technologist with strong in Agile Scrum methods; rapid architecture design; participation in- and execution of- Architecture review boards and coaching
  • Chairs and coaches the Architecture Review Board (ARB) for continuous improvements
  • Ensures traisition of E.A CoP (Candidate ID & Training focus) to the E.A CoE (Management of ARB & Architecture design/review at scale focus)
  • Conducts paired reviews of architecture diagrams for Maine IT projects with EA CoE team memebers
  • Helps design & adopt architecture blueprints for "Fast Lane " reviews
  • Informs imeplementation of EA framework for Maine IT
  • An Agile Architecture Review Board (ARB) is a governing body within an organization that oversees architectural decisions and ensures alignment with agile principles and practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and Facilitate Architecture Review Board (ARB): Take ownership of the ARB process, ensuring that architecture designs align with business objectives, technical standards, and best practices. Facilitate discussions, provide guidance, and drive decisions to resolve architectural issues and challenges.
  • Multi-Cloud Architecture Expertise: Demonstrate deep knowledge and proficiency in designing, implementing, and managing multi-cloud architectures across various platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Develop strategies for optimizing performance, cost-efficiency, and reliability within multi-cloud environments.
  • Agile Methodologies: Champion Agile principles and practices within the architecture review process. Collaborate closely with Agile teams to integrate architectural reviews seamlessly into iterative development cycles. Drive agility and flexibility in architectural decision-making to support rapid product delivery.
  • Technical Leadership: Serve as a subject matter expert on cloud architecture, providing guidance and mentorship to architects, engineers, and cross-functional teams. Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices to inform architectural decisions and drive innovation.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the ARB process, identifying opportunities to streamline workflows, enhance collaboration, and optimize decision-making. Implement metrics and KPIs to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of architectural reviews.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with key stakeholders, including product owners, developers, DevOps engineers, and senior leadership, to align architectural decisions with business goals and priorities. Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences, translating complex concepts into clear, actionable insights.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in software architecture, cloud computing, and Agile methodologies.
  • Proven expertise in designing and implementing multi-cloud architectures (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Strong understanding of Agile principles and practices, with experience leading Agile teams or projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with a track record of driving technical initiatives and mentoring junior team members.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert) preferred.
