Sign-on bonus eligible: $3,000 Position Summary The Pharmacy Technician 4 is responsible for assisting the Pharmacy Technician Supervisor and Pharmacy Manager in coordinating the daily duties of the Pharmacy Technician staff. These responsibilities include: training and/or orientating new employees, technician staffing adjustments and assignments, assisting with Technician appraisals, job and clean room competencies, and assisting in the coordination of the daily technical functions of the Department. The Pharmacy Technician 4 also is responsible for performing all the functions of the Technician when assigned Essential Functions Accurate preparation of patient medications including sterile products, chemotherapy, unit dose, cartfills, TPN, narcotics. Assists the Pharmacy Managers and Technician Supervisor with medication/patient care related and daily operational issues including but not limited to staffing adjustments and assignments. Serves as a mentor and develop role models for technical staff. Orients and trains new staff. Integrates and coordinates process improvement and safety initiatives Inventory management including weekly par level counts and recalls. Oversee Pharmacy One Source Simplify 797 and Isensix Monitoring Oversees the completion of job and clean room competencies. Onboarding of students and new hires. On call coverage. Required For All Jobs Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies and standards. For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation. Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace. Qualifications:QualificationsEducationHigh School Equivalent / GED Required and Graduate of an accredited pharmacy technician program Required Work Experience1+ years As a Pharmacy Technician 3 Required and Prior experience as a pharmacy technician in a hospital or community setting Preferred Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Understanding of metric system and basic math concepts. Required Good communication skills are essential. Required Basic knowledge of pharmacy computer systems, TPN compounders, automated dispensing cabinets, calculators, and facsimile machines are. Preferred The ability to work autonomously and proactively and see the broader implications of decisions and solutions is essential and.
