Responsibilities for the Registered Clinical Dietitian include:
  • Provide optimal nutritional care to patients across the continuum of the cancer experience through nutrition screening, assessment, support, counseling, metabolic monitoring, and medical team communication.
  • Assessing patients' nutritional status and intervening with appropriate medical nutrition therapy (MNT) and/or diet education.
  • Maintaining or optimizing nutrition status and documents in the electronic medical record.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary rounds and various committee meetings.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of community cancer centered outreach programs.
  • Participates in internship preceptorship and new staff onboarding.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the organization's service standards and incorporates them into the performance of duties.
  • Provides assistance and contributes new ideas to the department.
  • Acquires and maintains current knowledge and competence to fulfill responsibilities.
  • Plans work assignments accordingly and utilizes time effectively.
  • Functions as a resource person to the healthcare team regarding the nutritional management of patients
  • Engages in self-assessment and participates in activities to promote own professional growth and development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, professionalism, pro-active and customer-service focused
  • Experience with EPIC/CBORD .
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition/Dietetics. Must have completed a post graduate supervised, Commission on Dietetics Registration approved dietetic internship program and successfully passed the National Registration Examination for Dietitians to become a Registered Dietitian (RD)
  • Certification with New York State (CDN) required within 1 year of start date
Preferred Qualifications:
  • CSO (Certified Specialist in Oncology Nutrition)
  • 5 years clinical experience
  • Master's Degree and/or advanced certification in nutrition preferred


The pay for this position ranges from $36.00 - $42.00 per hour/per year.

This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
