QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Prefer First aid and CPR knowledge and training.
3. Basic supervisory and disciplinary skills.

REPORT TO: Building Principal or designee.

JOB GOAL: To assist in providing safe transportation so that students may enjoy the fullest possible advantage form the district's curriculum and extra curriculum program.

PEFORMANCE REPSONSIBILITIES:
  1. Assists the bus driver in maintaining good student conduct on the bus.
  2. Assists young or disabled students in getting on and off the bus.
  3. Coordinate with the bus driver and office to maintain and update the roster of passengers on the bus.
  4. Keep attendance of who is on the bus for each run.
  5. Assign seats to students and reassign as needed based on behavior and space.
  6. Assure that students get off at the proper stop.
  7. Walk up and down the aisle to be better aware of student behaviors.
  8. Report and document bullying or behaviors to the bus driver and principal.
  9. Help with loading and unloading procedures. Please make sure of student safety during procedures, including daily front-door evacuation, and assist with back-door evacuations and drills.
  10. Check the bus after the ride to ensure all students have exited the bus.
  11. Report and document all incidents to proper authority.
  12. Other duties as assigned by the principal.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Temporary positions. Salary and work year will be established by the Oglala Lakota County School Board.

EVALUATION: Performance of this position will be evaluated by the building Principal or designee.

CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK: All employees in contact with children must submit to and pass the required criminal background check and drug test.
