LPN, Women's Center

Job Summary: Provides direct and indirect patient care in the maternity setting under the direction of a registered nurse. Communicates with physicians/charge nurses about changes in patient's clinical condition including maternal status, and results of tests, and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Additionally in the PCA role, orders and stocks supplies, prepares and compiles records in the department, ensures delivery carts are fully stocked and supplies are in date. The LPN is able to perform general nursing duties in all departments. Participates in performance improvement activities.Education/Regulatory Requirements & Experience:Current state licensed Vocational/Practical Nurse Licensure.One or more years of recent Labor and Delivery/Post Partum/Newborn Nursery experience preferred.Current Neonatal Resuscitation certification*.Current BLS certification (may be obtained during New Employee Orientation).Regulatory requirement indicated with a "*" may be completed within 12 months of employment.Previous work history that demonstrates steady attendance and punctuality is required.
