This role maintains patient satisfaction while at all times treating patients with respect and dignity.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Provide patient care that is compassionate, appropriate, and effective for the treatment of health problems and the promotion of health. Develop and document a plan of care for each patient, including a complete medical history that includes essential and accurate information, a physical examination, diagnosis of the causes of injuries and illnesses, appropriate treatment and/or referral, and hospital visitations when necessary. Make informed diagnostic and therapeutic decisions based on patient information, current scientific evidence, clinical judgment and patient preference. Utilize appropriate evidence-based medical guidelines and protocols. Prescribe, and perform competently, medical procedures and surgeries considered essential for the full scope of Podiatry practice. Counsel and communicate effectively to create and sustain meaningful and therapeutic relationships with patients, their families and caregivers. Utilize information technology to optimize patient care. Work effectively with others as a member or leader of a healthcare team. Demonstrate dignity, integrity, excellence, compassion, stewardship, and responsiveness and accountability to the needs of patients. Portray a commitment to ethical principles pertaining to the provision or withholding of clinical care, confidentiality of patient information, informed consent and business practices. Display sensitivity and responsiveness to a diverse patient population including, but not limited to, diversity in gender, age, culture, race and religion. Maintain strict confidentiality and ethical and professional standards of applicable national, state and local medical societies and licensing agencies.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Knowledge of established and evolving field of podiatry and application of this knowledge to patient care. Knowledge of Practice-Based Learning and Improvement that involves investigation and evaluation of their own patient care, appraisal and assimilation of scientific evidence and improvements in patient care. Skill in using a computer and a variety of software, including Electronics Health Records (EHR) software, Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook. Skill in communicating in a professional manner, both verbally and in writing. Skill in managing multiple priorities. Ability to convey professional demeanor when engaging with patients, protecting privacy, and confidentiality. Ability to enter data into a computer to maintain records. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Ability to act as a good representative of the company. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:Successful completion of Podiatric Residency training, board certification, Nebraska License to practice, Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) License, and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
