The Genetic Counselor: Ability to compile and evaluate family history and genetic test results Demonstrates ability to provide patient education regarding genetic disorders. Capable of recommending standard genetic tests and identifying family members to be tested Ability to discuss management of care options for patients with their physicians and medical team Knowledge to educate patients regarding their risks/options and test resultsWhat do you need?Required Master's degree from an accredited genetic counseling program Certification or eligibility for certification by the American Board of Genetic Counseling or the American Board of Medical Genetics Research experience or experience working in an Oncology multidisciplinary team preferredWho do you report to?
