We are looking for a dynamic and passionate Registered Nurse-Psychiatric Unit to join the Mountainside Team

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

The Registered Nurse-Psychiatric Unit, will direct and oversee the care provided by other caregivers through delegation, validation, evaluation, and coordination.

The successful candidate will be able to:
  • Perform through and timely assessment of patient's condition including physical, psychological, social and rehabilitative aspects
  • Report pertinent observations regarding the patient to the physician, and other team members
  • Discuss patient care as it relates to evidence based practice/s
  • Develop individualized patient care plans
  • Provide education consistent with the patient/family's learning abilities and preferences
  • Administer medications to patients in an accurate and timely manner
  • Appropriately provide charting updates to patient's medical records
  • Transcribe, verify, and carry out physician orders in an accurate and timely manner
  • Recognize and respond to opportunities to enhance overall patient experience
  • Precept newly employed team members and students
  • Assure quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Resolve patient problems and needs by utilizing multidisciplinary strategies
  • Perform any and all other duties as assigned
Qualifications

What You'll Bring
  • Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required, Bachelor's of Nursing Degree preferred
  • A minimum of 1 year experience as a registered nurse in a psychiatric or behavioral health care facility preferred
  • Current and valid NJ Registered Nurse license
  • BLS certification required
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Customer/patient centric attitude a must
