SouthCoast Health Imaging Department is seeking a Full-time CT Tech

Under the clinical supervision of Physician or Office Manager provides patient services using imaging modalities as employed. Performs majority of exams with minimal supervision. Operates computed tomography (CT) scanner to produce cross-sectional radiographs or patient's body for diagnostic purposes by performing the following duties. Qualifications

: Ability to operate computed tomography (CT) scanner. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology necessary to perform testing including body mechanics and patient movement.

Knowledge of basic procedures, protocol, methods and techniques. Knowledge of equipment including common safety hazards. Responsibilities: Creates a caring and healing environment that keeps the patient and family at the center of care throughout their experience at SouthCoast. Positions and immobilizes patient on examining table, using supportive devices to obtain precise patient position and following protocols specified by Radiologist. Administers contrast media orally or assists Physician in intravenous administration. Enters data such as type of scan requested, slice thickness, scan time, and other technical data into computer. Starts CT scanner to scan designated anatomical area of patient. Views images of organs or tissue on video display screen to ensure quality of pictures. Performs or assists with other clinical or non-clinical duties as assigned by Supervisor or Physician. Organizes daily work schedule and performs on call duties and/or works variable shifts as assigned to meet the needs of the department. Education/Experience: Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.Six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education. Requirement: Professional registry for modality employed in, when mandated by Federal or section certifications or registry eligible (ARRT R.T. (R)(M)(CT). Must maintain continued education (CE) credits as required and maintain currency of BLS/CPR certification.
