Job Opening Summary

Provides leadership in the development of professional nursing practice by providing administrative support and structure for the delivery of professional nursing care. Accountable for strategic planning, developing annual budgets and serving as a resource to physicians and staff. In addition, will implement, evaluate and revise systems that support professional practice to achieve the nursing vision and organizational goals. Maintains 24-hour accountability for unit functions. Provides leadership to achieve the organization's mission of excellent patient care and nursing's vision of setting a new standard of excellence in autonomous and accountable nursing practice committed to patient advocacy and innovative patient care in a climate of trust and collaboration.

Job Opening Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Master's degree in nursing required.

Current staff without MSN must obtain degree as contracted by the VP/AVP.

National nursing board certification required.

Current staff without professional nursing board certification must obtain certification as contracted by the VP/AVP.

Minimum of five years of professional nursing practice experience required.

Demonstrates leadership and management skills with knowledge and application of advanced professional nursing practice, CQI process, nursing care delivery models, health care delivery systems and budgetary process.

Licensure/Certification/ Registration:

Current license as a registered nurse in the state of Florida.
