Position Summary This position requires full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of Saddleback Medical Center . The employee shall support Saddleback Medical Center's strategic plan and participate in and advocate performance improvement/patient safety activities. Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job: Meets population specific competencies utilizing the nursing process. Documentation is complete, accurate, timely, and reflects the patient's plan of care. Provides leadership and clear direction to all members of the healthcare team to support the plan of care while maintaining responsibility and accountability for the management of patient care. Provides for the psychosocial, spiritual, and cultural needs of patients, families, and significant others. Demonstrates continued development of clinical expertise and current knowledge of healthcare trends and education related nursing practice. Participates in processes that improve standards of care and practice in the delivery of nursing service. Supports sustainment of the Magnet culture. Performs other duties as assigned. *Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities. Check out our MemorialCare Benefits for more information about our Benefits and Rewards.Qualifications Minimum Requirements Qualifications/Work Experience: 1 year of acute care experience in Oncology, General Surgery, Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, or Cardiac-related nursing highly preferred. Experience with Electronic Medical Record System such as EPIC. Education/Licensure/Certification: Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) required. Current California Registered Nursing (RN) License required. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Card (BLS) required. Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required. Successful completion of department-provided EKG training within 90 days of hire. NIHSS Certification preferred. ONS certification or OCN highly preferred.
