The Phlebotomy Lead provides a vital link between the administrative strategic plan and the point of care. The Phlebotomy Lead is responsible for creating a safe, healthy environment that supports the work of the health care team and contributes to patient engagement. The role is influential in creating a professional environment and fostering a culture where interdisciplinary team members are able to contribute to optimal patient outcomes and grow professionally.

The Phlebotomy Lead is responsible for performing phlebotomy procedures under the direction of a physician's order using phlebotomy modalities at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. The lead assumes responsibilities for designated areas or procedures as required, performs patient services using phlebotomy modalities, applies principles of patient safety, evaluates sample quality, exercises professional judgment in the performance of procedures and provides patient care.

Education:
•Graduate of an accredited High School or GED program
•Preferred: Graduate of an accredited phlebotomy/ medical assistant training program.

Certifications/Experience:
•Preferred a minimum of three year's experience in a laboratory or medical facility
•Certified BLS within the first year of employment.
