What You'll Do:

As an Estimating Assistant you will play a crucial role in supporting the estimating team in accurately and efficiently preparing cost estimates for construction projects. You will collaborate closely with estimators, project managers, and others to gather necessary information and ensure the timely completion of estimates. This role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

• Assist in gathering and reviewing project documents, such as drawings, specifications, and bid packages.
• Locate & develop new potential subcontractor partners for nationwide projects.
• Organize and maintain electronic and hard-copy files related to estimating activities.
• Perform quantity takeoffs from construction drawings using appropriate software and tools.
• Research and collect data on material and labor costs from various sources.
• Input and update cost data in estimating software and spreadsheets accurately.
• Assist in preparing bid packages, proposals, and other documents for submission to clients.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain quotes and pricing information.
• Support the estimating team in analyzing project requirements and identifying potential risks and opportunities.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and other project-related activities as needed.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams and external teams to ensure clarity and accuracy.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field (preferred).
• Previous experience in construction estimating or related roles is desirable but not required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), Procore and construction estimating software.
• Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
• Familiarity with construction drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
