The Health Specialist is responsible for growing, managing and rounding out new and the existing book of business. They assist customers with questions, filing claims and changing existing policies. They are responsible for resolving customer concerns.

Responsibilities
  • Assist customers obtaining Affordable Healthcare Act (ACA) compliant Health Insurance plans (for those clients under 65 years of age)
  • Assist customers obtaining Medicare Supplement or Medicare Advantage Plans (for those clients over 65 years of age)
  • Maintains familiarity with carrier websites and quoting guidelines
  • Assists customers with questions regarding their coverages
  • Requests and reviews quotes; assist in plan selection
  • Reviews account renewals with clients
  • Reviews existing accounts to determine if additional lines should be solicited
  • Maintains working knowledge of all products
  • Participate and pass training in the fall of the year for American Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) Medicare training.
  • Participate and pass training in the fall of the year for Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) annual recertification
  • Participate and pass training in the fall of the year The Marketplace recertification for ACA compliance
Qualifications
  • Active NC Health & Medicare Insurance License.
  • Excellent interpersonal and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrate strong customer focus and an excellent phone manner.
  • Have excellent time management skills with a personal accountability mindset as well as technology and computer proficiency.
