Insight Global Health is looking for a pharmacy technician to join one of its' healthcare clients in the Sarasota, Fl area. The Technician will be responsible for assisting and supporting pharmacists in various aspects of the medication use process in a patient focused manner that supports and promotes medication safety, as well as responsibility for supporting the preparation and distribution of medications. * They will train in around seven different assignments during their introductory period. Training lasts approximately three months * Roles trained in include: * Delivery Tech- responsibilities can include delivering medications to the floors, refilling medication to Pyxis, maintaining the inventory in Pyxis, running STAT doses to the floors, refilling controlled substances, refilling/removing stock from inventory in central Pharmacy, using Swisslog Boxpicker and Pharmacy Manager to maintain inventory * Controlled Substance Tech- refilling controlled substances throughout the hospital and pulling expired inventory from Pyxis * Float Tech- pulling and returning medications to/from the Swisslog Boxpicker, pulling expired inventory from Swisslog Boxpicker, run STAT medications to the floors * List Tech- pull batches from central Pharmacy inventory for delivery technicians to deliver, run STAT medications to the floors, compound non-sterile unit dose liquids * Triage Tech- central technician responsible for triaging phone calls, processing medication requests from nursing, processing labels and new doses, repacking PO medications from bulk bottles to individual blister packs, directing workflow for other technicians * IV and Batching Tech- compound sterile IV products and batch IV doses for future use * There is the opportunity to train in more specialized roles such as NICU, OR, and Chemo * These roles require advanced training in sterile IV compounding * Once the training period is complete, the technician will have more specific shifts in one of these areas-Pharmacy Technician Board Certification (PTCB) -IV compounding experience* Registered Pharmacy Technician in the state of Florida * 1+ years hospital experience * High School Diploma or GED
