Certified Coder II

Arrowhead Regional Medical Center Health Information Management has an immediate need of 2 temporary Certified Coder II.

Job Description:

Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze medical records to assign appropriate codes using ICD-10, ICD-9, and other coding systems
- Ensure accurate and timely coding of diagnoses, procedures, and services
- Abstract relevant information from medical records for coding purposes
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and ensure accurate code assignment
- Stay up-to-date with changes in coding guidelines and regulations
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Assist with medical billing and reimbursement processes as needed

Skills:
- Proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Strong knowledge of medical coding systems, including ICD-10 and ICD-9
- Familiarity with DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) coding
- Ability to interpret and analyze complex medical documentation
- Attention to detail and accuracy in coding assignments
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in electronic health record systems

2-3 years inpatient coding at an acute care hospital

Knowledgeable in ICD-10 CM, coding convention and guidelines

Familiar with 3M encoder and Epic and Meditech

Hybrid or Remote - will discuss with the candidate

7am-5pm - shift starts as early as 7am and ends as late as 5pm PST (8 hr shift)

Please note that this is not an entry-level position. Prior experience in medical coding or related field is required.
