SUMMARY: A Paramedic functions as the most extensively trained primary care provider in the pre-hospital setting. The Paramedic provides both basic and advanced life support, including comprehensive patient assessment, invasive airway management, cardiac monitoring, and administration of medications. LOCATION: Riceboro, GA. JOB TYPE: Full Time – 12 hours Rotating Shift. RESPONSIBILITIES: Respond to emergency and non-emergency requests for plant medical support. Perform comprehensive patient assessments. Provide Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) as needed. Provide general medical care and treatment to patients including administering medications, IVs (Intra-venous lines), and airway management as defined by state and local regulatory agencies. Neatly and accurately document pertinent patient information on all required forms/documents. Attend all Company required OSHA training, annual training, and all mandatory Company updates. Perform Point of Care (POC) testing for blood glucose levels, PT/INR (Prothrombin Time/International Normalized Ratio), etc. Process lab works to include paperwork and filing on a daily basis. Screen laboratory tests and results for normal/abnormal lab values and notify the nurse/physician. Assist the nurse/physician in the management and oversight of the clinic. Possess knowledge of treatment of chronic health problems, i.e., hypertension, diabetes, and asthma. Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality. Provide basic first aid, preventive care, and guidance in treating a variety of common illnesses/injuries. Able to operate and interpret Electrocardiograms (EKG) and utilize laboratory equipment for screening and baseline measurements. Perform pre-employment and post-offer screenings. Administer post-accident drug screens (PADS). Complete general administrative duties as required. Requirements A High School diploma is required. National Registry EMT (NREMT) Paramedic is required. Certified Paramedic License for the State of Georgia and current CPR and BLS certification. Ability to lift a 50lb. emergency response bag. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to read and interpret all required documents and write required reports and correspondence. Must have excellent judgment, be able to prioritize decisions, and act quickly in the best interest of the patient. Ability to multitask. Ability to direct other team members to assist as needed. Able to lead and support the clinic team. Ability to work with personnel at all levels within the organization. Preferred Classes: Basic Trauma Life Support (BTLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
