Position Overview

The delivery position requires driving a Straight Truck or Semi in moving and hauling janitorial products for timely local and Out-State deliveries. Driver will maintain professional representation of the Company in all interactions with customers and through responsible driving, while providing excellent customer service and building strong customer relationships. This position reports to Operation Manager in the Coleman division.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS – ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Transport product in a safe and professional manner. Be friendly and professional in appearance and have good customer relations skills.
  • Must inspect vehicles prior to transporting to ensure safe operations. Report mechanical problems and body damage immediately to supervisor.
  • Work under time constraints to meet specific timelines.
  • Maintain records required compliance with State and Federal regulations, including driver’s logs, records of fuel and other required company policies.
  • Must keep a clean general appearance of the vehicle inside and out.
  • Ensure all administrative paperwork concerning delivery orders required to move with shipments is available for inspection and that appropriate paperwork accompanies delivery.
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision.
  • Adhere to all applicable safety practices.
  • Promote and exhibit Company culture and values.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must have a valid Michigan Class “B” License
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.
  • No more than 2 moving violations and/or at-fault accidents on driving record in the past 3 years. No drug or alcohol related convictions on driving record in the past 7 years.
  • 2 to 3 years of prior truck driving experience.
  • Ability to follow supervisor’s instructions
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Occasional lifting from 5 to 50 lbs.
  • Vision abilities require close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Manual dexterity and other repetitive tasks.
  • The ability to bend, crouch, or stand as necessary
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions.
