Administers anesthetic care for the purpose of facilitating diagnostic, therapeutic and surgical procedures.**Responsibilities:**+ Serves in a lead capacity by assisting the APRN manager with scheduling and supervision of the CRNAs on the unit+ Assists with Press Ganey strategies to increase employee engagement.+ Oversees timekeeping and attendance.+ Oversees Quality and Compliance issues at their specific sites.+ Assists with the scheduling of CRNA's with regard to meeting approval and reimbursement.+ Participates with the annual evaluation process.+ Communicates operational needs to the management team.+ Ensures adherence of the assigned facility to JCOH, ODH, Quality, and Compliance standards.+ Assists with clinical education and career development of assigned staff.+ Actively assists with on-boarding new Anesthetists.+ Performs and documents a pre-anesthetic assessment and evaluation of the patient.+ Develops and implements an anesthetic plan of care, including monitoring modalities and post-anesthesia follow-up evaluation and care.+ Selects, obtains and administers the anesthetic plan of care, including induction, maintenance and emergence phase anesthesia.+ Recognizes alterations in physiologic responses to the surgical procedure and/or the anesthetic, takes appropriate action and notifies the responsible physician as indicated.+ Attends at least 75% of Regional Chief/Assistant Chief meetings either by teleconference or in person.+ Attends key leadership meetings.+ Other duties as assigned.+ Follows Hospital and department policies and procedures with special attention to attendance and punctuality, confidentiality, dress code and display of ID badge, and safety.+ Completes mandatory education and training in order to maintain organization and department-specific competencies and requirements.+ Performs and documents a pre-anesthetic assessment and evaluation of the patient.+ Develops and implements an anesthetic plan of care, including monitoring modalities and post-anesthesia follow-up evaluation and care.+ Selects, obtains and administers the anesthetic plan of care, including induction, maintenance and emergence phase anesthesia.+ Recognizes alterations in physiologic responses to the surgical procedure and/or the anesthetic, takes appropriate action and notifies the responsible physician as indicated.+ Other duties as assigned.**Education:**+ Graduate of accredited CRNA program.**Certifications** :+ Must have a current licensure as a registered nurse (RN) and a certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA) from the Ohio Board of Nursing.+ Must have current certification and continued professional certification (CPC) with the National Board of Certification Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) and State Board of Nursing endorsement.+ Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) are required.+ Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through American Heart Association (AHA) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) through American Academy of Pediatrics certifications may be required based upon work setting.**Complexity of Work:**+ Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.+ Must be able to work in a stressful environment.**Work Experience:**+ None Required**Physical Requirements:**+ Requires full range of motion; manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.+ Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time and the ability to lift and transport patients.+ Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.+ Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.+ Ability to work under extreme pressure.**Personal Protective Equipment:**+ Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.Salaries [which may be] shown on independent job search websites reflect various market averages and do not represent information obtained directly from The Cleveland Clinic.
