We do this in pursuit of our mission to improve the health and happiness of the communities we serve by providing quality care to all, regardless of situation or circumstance.We have been doing this since 1969 and it is our employees that make this mission a reality.Regardless of the role, our team focuses on being compassionate, having integrity, being professional, always collaborating, and consistently going above and beyond.If that sounds like an organization you want to be a part of, we would love to meet you.ROLE OVERVIEW and PURPOSEThe Physician, Pediatrics works to support the mission and vision of Neighborhood Healthcare (NHC) by providing excellent patient-centered care and services within a dynamic team environment.This role will provide comprehensive medical services to pediatric patients.In addition, this role will educate and promote healthy choices to parents and their children.RESPONSIBILITIESDirect Patient CareAs a Neighborhood Physician, you may be required at times to provide oversight and supervision to advanced practice providers, residents, rotational students, etc.Reviews patient records, including allergies, problems, medications and immunization statusesElicits and documents information about patient's medical historyExamines symptoms to gather more information about the patient's physical conditionOrders and executes various tests, analyses, and diagnostic images to provide information on patient's conditionAnalyzes reports and findings of tests, examinations, and diagnoses to understand the patient's current conditionAdministers or prescribes treatments to patientsDetermines and prescribes medications, dosages, and schedules given patient conditions and allergiesDiscusses possible side effects to medications or immunizations with patients and parentsPrescribes and administers vaccinations to immunize patients from communicable diseasesPromotes health by advising patients and parents about diets, hygiene, and methods for prevention of diseasePerforms surgical procedures corresponding to surgical competenciesRefers patients to medical specialists for consultant services for patients' well-being, as neededDocuments patient visits, including medical histories, physical exams, diagnoses, and plans of actionFollows up with patients regarding progress in high risk or emergency casesConducts physical examinations to patients for information needed for admission to schools, consideration for jobs, or eligibility for insurance coverageProvider and Team SupportShares accountability for overall patient health outcomes by working in coordination with care teamsOperates to instill confidence in our care and in our facilities to patients, fellow employees, and other stakeholdersAssesses training needs and promotes developmental activities for the teamEDUCATION/EXPERIENCEDoctorate in medicine is requiredCalifornia Medical license in good standing is requiredValid DEA and CPR certification is requiredADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including superior composition, typing and proofreading skillsAbility to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formKnowledgeable about and experience with pediatric medicineAbility to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneouslyExcellent planning and organizational abilityAbility to work as part of a team as well as independentlyAbility to work with highly confidential information in a professional and ethical mannerPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift/carry 10 lbs/weightAbility to stand for long periods of timePay range: $245-331k per year, depending on experience. (DOE)Neighborhood Healthcare requires employees to be fully vaccinated (including a booster dose) against COVID-19 and demonstrate proof of vaccination/booster upon hire or receive approval for an exemption based on a medical reason, disability or religious belief.Proof of booster dose will be contingent upon booster eligibility.
