Location: Burnet TX

Schedule: 4 x 10 2nd shift - 1pm-1130p
Occasionally covering PTO on day shift- not often but potential for OT

Must be comfortable with basic blood banking. Type & screens, crossmatches. No antibody ID works-ups performed at this site. Temp to Perm. Location: Burnet TX.

Vaccine required: Covid and Flu - Declination form accepted for religious or medical reason.
Color Vision Screening test required.
Atleast 1 year of Generalist [coag, hem, UA etc.] with basic blood bank experience is required.
Education: BS, BSMT, or open to MLT.

Cerner Pathnet is the Lab Information System used at this site- any previous experience with this is a big plus

Medical Lab Technologist / CLS / MLS [HM is open to MLT with the right experience.]
-Generalist experience required [Coag, Hem, UA etc.]
-ASCP or AMT certfication is required [HM is open to registered or eligible candidates but they must complete ASAP.]
-Fast paced work enviorment 30,000 samples processed per month at this level 2 Trauma rapid response lab.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Responsibilities are interchangeable within job titles of medical laboratory scientist (MLS), medical technologist or clinical laboratory scientist.

Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria. Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.

Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality. Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving. Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.

Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.

Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures. Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.

Assist with processing of specimens when needed.

Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or meet local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements.

Minimum 0-2 years of clinical laboratory testing experience is required.

Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus.

High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills. Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen.

Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
