Job Title: Vascular Ultrasound Technologist

Status: Part Time

Position Purpose

Work as the ultrasound technologist for the Vascular Surgery Department of Atlanta's largest podiatry provider. Perform 100% lower extremity vascular studies. No Call. No nights or weekends. Flexible Schedule.

Responsibilities and Duties

Perform arterial and venous ultrasound examinations of the lower extremities

Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process, answering questions, and ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the examination.

Operate ultrasound equipment to obtain high-quality images of the vascular structures and blood flow patterns.

Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to review findings and assist in patient diagnosis and treatment planning.

Maintain accurate patient records, including ultrasound images, examination results, and patient history.

Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, safety protocols, and quality assurance guidelines for ultrasound procedures.

Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform routine maintenance to ensure proper functioning of ultrasound machines.

Provide compassionate and professional patient care, demonstrating empathy, respect, and sensitivity to patients' needs.

Qualifications

Associate's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related field from an accredited program.

ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) certification in Vascular Technology (RVT) or eligibility to obtain certification within six months of hire.

Proficiency in performing lower extremity vascular ultrasound procedures, ABIs and PVRs,

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, physicians, and colleagues.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Attention to detail and accuracy in performing ultrasound examinations and documenting results.

Commitment to patient care, safety, and confidentiality.

Light travel to a satellite office may be required

Work Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach and squat. Employee duties will frequently require computer usage including the ability to type as well as verbally communicate with others.
