The Senior Technologist will partner with engineers to design, prototype, and test first of its kind cutting edge implants and delivery systems.How you'll make an impact:Develop methods and process to prototype cardiovascular implantsAssist in the design, development, and build of delivery systemsSupport a wide range of engineering activities such as testing, modification, and assembly with various cardiovascular equipmentBe proactive in formulating and proposing technical solutions to challengesMust be able to adapt to frequent changes to project scope and requirementsProvide logistical support for animal studiesPerform test and identify failure modes on test equipment, digital acquisition systems andPerform complex work using drawings, diagrams, written and verbal instructions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout, and trouble-shooting functionsOperate a wide range of lab equipment including set-up, clean-up, break-down, and process development.Design and build simple fixtures, using sketches, CAD, etcTrain and mentor junior level technologists and engineers.Open to constantly learning new skills and processesWhat you'll need (Required):High School Diploma or equivalent and 10+ years' experience in R&D Lab and/or medical device experience and/or medical device field in academic or national experiment test facilities - OR -Associate degree and 8+ years' experience in R&D Lab and/or medical device experienceStrong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skillsWhat else we look for (Preferred):Ability to perform complex troubleshootingAbility to identify problems and relevant issues in complex situations, assessing using standard proceduresAbility to read and understand procedures, drawings, schematics and carry out assembly instructionsExperience with nitinol shape setting processesExperience with catheter manufacturing processesMust be able to work independently including formulating work instructions and providing guidanceKnowledge and understanding of statistical techniques and proceduresAbility to draft technical documents (i.e, manufacturing and testing procedures)Strict attention to detailAligning our overall business objectives with performance, we offer competitive salaries, performance-based incentives, and a wide variety of benefits programs to address the diverse individual needs of our employees and their families.For California, the base pay range for this position is $67,000 to $95,000 (highly experienced).The pay for the successful candidate will depend on various factors (e.g., qualifications, education, prior experience).
