Job Title: Datacenter Technician
Location: Jacksonville, FL

Job description:

  • Support and maintain 24x7 Data Center operations
  • Support and execute all data center capacity management and inventory control for optics, cables and all Data Center server/network hardware
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to arrange support or repair of server and network hardware for major components (e.g. hard disk, NIC card, memory)
  • Assist in the design and implementation of Data Center build outs, including installation of cabinets, structured cabling, and installation/provisioning of new hardware
  • Work with Network engineering and lead Data Center projects to ensure they are delivered to meet customer requirements
  • Travel to Data Center sites for project review and site walk throughs as required
  • Review and update Data Center "as-built" documentation as re-configurations and updates are needed
  • Maintain full working knowledge of current best practices for cabinet level hardware, industry standard cable management, documentation, and labeling standards
  • Monitor and perform ongoing maintenance on servers and network equipment.
  • Perform core data center operations and deployment tasks on one or more functions (e.g., maintenance, Servers, projects, networking, and Media security) with day-to-day guidance.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting, testing, and problem identification to address routine networking issues by following prescribed procedures.
  • Running hardware diagnostics and replacing failing parts in a timely manner.
  • Upgrading internal system components, including CPUs, memory, hard drives, and network cables
  • In-depth knowledge of data center environments, servers, and network equipment.
  • Extensive experience in installing, monitoring, and maintaining data center equipment.
  • Design network topologies and configuration for the DC Fabric networks
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, as well as identify and diagnose network problems
  • Define and partner with network hardware, software, and vendor teams on the development of network platforms (switch and optics)
  • Maintain technology architecture and establish the future design of Infrastructure (Network, Architecture, Integrations / Interfaces, etc.), software applications/platforms (Enterprise level, Department level), company devices (desktop, mobile, peripherals), storage, and compute
  • Ability to keep up with advancements in data center infrastructure and technologies.
  • Create and maintain accurate and credible records of maintenance, changes, problems, methods-of-procedures (MOPs) and resolutions.
  • Work with support service vendors to resolve conflicts and issues
  • Proficiency in documenting network processes.
  • Willingness to respond to network and server errors after hours.
  • Monitor activities, procedure, and utilization within the data center in order to maintain proper IT policies and to comply with the regulation
  • Evaluate equipment logs and see to it that there are no unresolved problems and issues
