Summary/General Description Of Job: The Driver operates a tractor/trailer and transports personnel and products, utilizing public roads and highways and throughout the military base. Essential Duties & Job Functions: § Drives vehicles of seven‑ton load capacity and larger on long and short hauls, including tractor/trailer combinations to transport personnel, articles, and materials throughout the base and on public roads and highways. § Ensures that cargo is properly loaded and secured and that vehicle is not loaded beyond capacity. § Operates winch when vehicle is so equipped, completes trip tickets and preventive maintenance service records, and fills out driver's accident report in case of accident. § Performs driver's maintenance in accordance with established rules and regulations. § May occasionally drive other type and size vehicles if qualified and licensed, when required by the workload. Performs related duties as assigned. § Performs other related duties as assigned. May perform work in other classifications when incidental work is necessary to the accomplishment of the work assignment. Significant work in another job classification may be required if accompanied by any wage adjustments applicable. Accountable For: § The proper use of tools and equipment commonly used in the driving field. § Completing all mandated training requirements per government and management directives. § Timely and cost effective performance of duties. § Timely completion and accuracy of all departmental work. § Dealing with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations. § Adherence to established company safety policies and good industrial and office safety practices. § Compliance with company Standard Operating Procedures and Personnel policies and procedures. § Having the ability to work well under pressure. Here's what you'll need: Job Requirements (Education, Experience, Professional Associations): Mandatory § Two years driving experience in seven‑ton or larger capacity vehicles in a professional capacity with a safe driving record. § Must possess a valid Washington State class "A" commercial driver's license with Tank (N) endorsement as a minimum. § Must have at least one year experience in the operation of 6,000 to 15,000 lb. capacity forklifts. § Must meet and maintain company physical and security requirements, including respirator qualification, and clearance eligibility when required. § Must obtain and maintain required explosives certifications when assigned to ordnance operations. § Must possess good communication skills for a service team environment. § Valid state driver's license with acceptable driving record. § Ability to successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract. § U.S. Citizenship.
