Job Title: German choir accompanist

Description/purpose of the Position:: Provide piano and/or organ accompaniment for German choir rehearsals and performances

Transferable Skills: Ability to organize and motivate a group of volunteers

Duties and Responsibilities: Assist German choir director in recruiting members for the German choir; provide piano and/or organ accompaniment for the weekly rehearsals and performances (1-2 per semester). Conduct section practices during rehearsals as needed. Assist German choir director in selecting repertoire for rehearsal and performances. Fall semester culminates in the German Advent Service the first week of December. For spring semester, the choir may perform at an end-of-year German Department celebration, at a Chapel service, or at a local church, for instance.

Qualifications (Education/Experience/Skills): Major, concentration or experience in piano or organ performance, church music, or music education with a focus in piano or organ; ability to organize and motivate a group of mixed-level singers; minimum beginner-level knowledge of German preferred
