This firm offers the legal expertise of its 120+ attorneys, who have accumulated experience and problem-solving skills over decades of practice. They are a vibrant, busy, and growing full-service law firm and looking to increase its talented ranks of attorneys by adding someone with a demonstrated interested and 8+ years’ experience in healthcare transactional and regulatory law.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Interpret complex health care regulations and statutes and apply them to business and transactional matters. Build a rapport with doctors, hospitals, and other healthcare providers. Counsel and represent a diverse clientele of individual clients, partnerships, corporations, and not-for-profit organizations in healthcare mergers, acquisitions, equity investments, and other strategic transactions. Counsel clients in matters such as fraud, abuse, employment, shareholder agreements, mergers, and acquisitions, etc. Handle matters related to fraud and abuse, licensure, employment, shareholder and partnership agreements, affiliation agreements, and buy/sell agreements. Provide expert legal guidance on daily corporate governance matters and offer actionable solutions to complex issues. Advise healthcare providers, including skilled nursing facilities, diagnostic and treatment centers, imaging centers, home health care agencies, assisted living facilities, management service organizations, and physician practices. Offer outside general counsel services to various entities, including nursing home operators and large physician practices. Collaborate with partners and senior attorneys to develop innovative legal strategies and solutions.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Juris Doctor degree (J.D.) from an accredited law school Active bar membership in New York and in good standing. Exceptional understanding of healthcare regulations, industry practices and emerging trends. Eight plus years in healthcare law. We welcome those who have experience working as in-house counsel to healthcare entities such as ProHealth, Northwell, CityMD, etc. Demonstrated ability to be flexible, work independently with limited oversight and prioritize work tasks in an effective manner. Proven ability to creatively accomplish organization goals while assessing and managing legal risk. Collaborative with a can-do attitude balanced with the ability to gracefully communicate difficult messages. Comfortable working with all levels of business professionals, including senior management and all colleagues at other departments in a fast-paced environment.
