The Histotechnician for the Department of Comparative Pathology will primarily be responsible for preparing stained histologic slides from formalin-fixed tissues derived from necropsy examinations of nonhuman primates. Additional duties include preparing frozen sections and slides from frozen tissues, paraffin block and slide maintenance, lab equipment/supplies maintenance, and other lab duties, as assigned. Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work well with others Strong organizational skills and ability to effectively manage multiple assignments Proficient computer skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office word and excel software applications. Self-motivated and ability to work independently Bachelor's degree or Medical Laboratory Certification Four (4) years directly related work experience in histology Bachelor's degree in Laboratory Science Four years' Pathology laboratory experience ASCP Histotechnician Certification
