Description
Position Summary

The Payroll Specialist processes all aspects of payroll for our multi-site-growing restaurant group; providing a high level of support to employees. Communicates effectively, both orally and in writing, with all organizational levels. Demonstrates efficiency and flexibility in performing detailed tasks in a fast-paced work environment with frequent interruptions, changing priorities, and multiple deadlines. Assist in the reconciliation of payroll accounts as needed. Maturity in dealing with sensitive and confidential matters.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Compiling and validating payroll data; including hours, garnishments, vacation time, insurance and 401(k) deductions.
  • Responsible for accurately processing payroll and ensuring that all employees are paid correctly and on time; uploading payroll data, posts wages, and reconciles errors, balancing the payroll and maintain payroll records.
  • Operating standard office equipment and using required software applications to produce correspondence, electronic communication, and maintain spreadsheets and databases.
  • Identifying and resolving internal discrepancies.
  • Researching employee questions concerning paychecks or pay in general.
  • Supporting and sustaining a positive work environment that fosters team performance through own work and behavior.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or two or more years of office-related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior experience processing payroll preferred, but not required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of payroll software or ability to learn specific applications.
  • Knowledge of Wage and Hour Laws preferred.
  • Professional, driven, motivated self-starter.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

The Munson Restaurant Group LLC is a multi-brand and unit franchisee operator in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. Our brands include Sonic Drive In, Buffalo Wild Wings and Buffalo Wild Wings GO locations.

This position is located at our management office located in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
