Flight Paramedic (PRN) Varied Shifts Trauma Services - Johnson City, TN Job ID: 0048AY BALLAD CORPORATE Other Clinical - TRAUMA SERVICE LINE PRN, As needed (No Schedule) - RotatingJob Description SCOPE OF POSITIONProvides pre-hospital care, basic or advanced, to the patient requiring air medevac transportation. This includes assessment, ongoing evaluation, implementation of treatment, and documentation. Job responsibilities include: 1) Assesses and treats all life threatening illnesses and injuries while working in an independent, yet cooperative role with the second medical provider and pilot. 2) Utilizes effective communication of information between flight crew members, flight following, and referring agencies in order to maintain a safe environment for the flight team. 3) Completes patient care report documentation in a collaborative manner after the completion of all patient care flights. Patient care reports are completed thoroughly and timely. 4) Display focus upon personal, as well as crew safety, based upon such risk areas as the medical environment, rescue environment, and the aviation environment. 5) Utilizes quality, effective, techniques focused on customer service, and service recovery, in order to maintain optimal relations with the pre-hospital, as well as hospital community/customer.REPORTNG RELATIONSHIPSee Table of OrganizationEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEParamedic Certification / Licensure in Virginia, Tennessee and National Registry. PHTLS or other approved trauma course required and maintained. Minimum of 3-5 years of paramedic experience with 3 years (minimum 4000 hours) in an ALS setting. Complete and pass Class II FAA physical on hire and annually. Maintain weight of 215 or less.BLS,ACLS, PALS certifications required and maintained. NRP within 6 months of hire and maintained. FP-C within 24 months of hire(Ballad One).CPR is required for any RN, LPN, PCT, Patient Transporter or other direct patient care provider. Emergency Department, Intensive Care Units, PACU, Medical Emergency Team and Anesthesia require ACLS. Pediatrics, SICU, Emergency Department and Medical Emergency Team also require PALSRequirements No additional requirements from any stated in the above description.
