Exercise Specialist

Job SummaryProvide fitness services for community and corporate wellness programs. Complete fitness assessments, develop exercise programs, and provide training and education for participants in fitness programs both in an individualized and group setting.Job ResponsibilitiesComplete fitness assessments, formulate and document exercise programs, provide instruction and training for adult and youth participants in fitness programs, both in an individualized and group setting.Instruct fitness participants on the effective and safe use of fitness equipment.Monitor progress of fitness program participants, altering exercise programs as needed.Maintain confidentiality of personal protected information.Participate in referral development, marketing, and relationship building with physicians, hospital personnel, and external agencies.Participate in policy and procedure development, and performance improvement initiatives related to fitness services and comply with all applicable policies andprocedures.Comply with all applicable policies and procedures, including, but not limited to all departmental and functional policies and procedures, maintain acceptable attendance records, arrive for duty punctually, and follow dress code.Other duties as assignedEducation RequirementsMinimum: Bachelor of Exercise Science or Related FieldPreferred: Training or Certification in Specialized Fitness ProgramsExperience RequirementsMinimum: None requiredPreferred: One (1) year of experience as an Exercise SpecialistLicense/Certification RequirementsBasic Life Safety (American Heart Association)
