Associate Business Applications Specialist

An application specialist is responsible for maintaining the optimal performance of system applications, ensuring smooth navigation by upgrading the features of existing applications, and performing multiple diagnostic tests before releasing the applications to Revenue Cycle. Associate Business Application Specialist work closely with the other specialist to improve system codes, verify the efficiency of network infrastructure, and adjusting application functions based on the clients' specifications and business' needs. Manage multiple imaging-relate projects across all service lines, both inpatient and outpatient, to completion Responsible for basic application support and implementation within the Information Service Department. Demonstrates basic computer operational skills. Under supervision must be able to apply software fixes or perform upgrades to existing systems. Demonstrates the ability to follow I/S Departmental and CAMC Organizational governance commitments including (but not limited to ticket management, training, testing, implementing, and validating service requests and/or requested modifications through the departments change control Demonstrates a basic understanding and adheres to departmental processes for change control.\u202f\u202f\u202f\u202fMaintains a level of cybersecurity knowledge sufficient to securely accomplish their job duties.\u202f
Responsibilities
1. Uses established procedures and working under close supervision perform assigned tasks 2. Utilizes detailed instructions to perform routine support and implementation work. 3. Utilizes appropriate and timely communication skills within assigned team. 4. Provide basic application support to customers either directly or via help desk tickets. 5. Perform basic application diagnostics 6. All other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Patient Group Knowledge (Only applies to positions with direct patient contact) The employee must possess/obtain (by the end of the orientation period) and demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide developmentally appropriate assessment, treatment or care as defined by the department's identified patient ages. Specifically the employee must be able to demonstrate competency in: 1) ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of patient needs; 2) knowledge of growth and development; and 3) understanding of the range of treatment needed by the patients. Competency Statement Must demonstrate competency through an initial orientation and ongoing competency validation to independently perform tasks and additional duties as specified in the job description and the unit/department specific competency checklist. Common Duties and Responsibilities (Essential duties common to all positions) 1. Maintain and document all applicable required education. 2. Demonstrate positive customer service and co-worker relations. 3. Comply with the company's attendance policy. 4. Participate in the continuous, quality improvement activities of the department and institution. 5. Perform work in a cost effective manner. 6. Perform work in accordance with all departmental pay practices and scheduling policies, including but not limited to, overtime, various shift work, and on-call situations. 7. Perform work in alignment with the overall mission and strategic plan of the organization. 8. Follow organizational and departmental policies and procedures, as applicable. 9. Perform related duties as assigned.
Education
• Bachelor's Degree (Required) Education: Bachelor's Degree and Advanced Certification in a relevant field, such as computer science, business administration, healthcare administration or other related field or equivalent work experience Experience: 8-10 years experience with IS or IT functionality AND/OR within Health Care Industry Or related financial systems support, and/or related business applications experience
