JOB TITLE: Dial-A-Ride Dispatcher

DEPARTMENT: Operations & Quality

REPORTS TO: Dial-A-Ride Dispatch Manager

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Collaborate with routing specialists, (schedulers), to optimize routes
  • Dispatch drivers using information provided by the clients through the
Reservation Department and the online Reservation Application
  • Review and respond to all incoming calls, confirming all details with the client o Review reservation two weeks out o Discuss with the client availability to review online reservations
  • Field incoming calls for same day requests, confirm availability and review possible route changes
  • Initiate all outbound calls to the City Connect and Access
  • Troubleshoot and resolve potential pick-up problems before they result in service issues
  • Ensure service on missed pick-ups by coordinating driver movement in the field
  • Assists in determining daily level of driver staffing to provide best mix of responsiveness and productivity
  • Identify and plan deployment for increase/decrease in route volumes, shifting resources in response to seasonal and other fluctuations
  • Record and document information and distribute to appropriate departments including: o Route information o Driver productivity information o Sales and service issue opportunities o Safety issues o Problem stops o Ensure accuracy and thoroughness of on-time pick-up o Customer service o Driver/Dispatch records
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • All other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Able to sit for extended periods of time
  • Able to lift 50-lbs
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
  • Good communication skills
  • Great customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Good computer skills
  • Comfortable using online search engines, email, and the internet.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Salary: From $17.00 per hour
