About Us
UofL Health is investing in the health of Bullitt County, and the surrounding area with an expansion of UofL Health Medical Center South to become an inpatient hospital UofL Health South Hospital. South Hospital is expected to open in early 2024 and will add approximately 100,000 square feet of new space to the existing facility. South Hospital will include a 10-bed intensive care unit, medical/surgical patient rooms, six operating rooms, new cardiac catheterization lab, expanded emergency department, centralized sterile processing area, laboratory, pharmacy, cardiopulmonary, respiratory therapy and more.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for all electrical systems and equipment. These systems are life support systems or essential utilities including emergency power generation and distribution, normal power service and distribution, safety devices, disconnects, breakers, line isolation equipment, ground fault equipment, motor driven equipment (e.g., ventilation and exhaust systems), essential and egress lighting.

Responsibilities:

Under the direct supervision of a Supervisor/Lead Mechanic, this position will provide a safe campus, including:

  • Installs, repairs, and maintains electrical equipment and systems
  • Isolates and repairs electrical circuits, replaces faulty switches, socket plugs, fuses, isolators and other elements of the electrical systems
  • Completes inspections and repairs of all electrical systems and equipment according to established procedures, policies and/or codes
  • Completes required documentation in reference to electrical systems as required by federal and state regulatory agencies
  • Disassembles a variety of electrical appliances. Replaces defective mechanical parts such as motors and control systems

Other Functions:

  • Assists other skilled workers and performs general maintenance work as needed
  • Responsible for corrective and preventive maintenance of all assigned equipment utilizing a data-based work order management system
  • Responsible for maintaining of parts materials and supplies to perform daily job function
  • Complies with HIPAA privacy and security requirements to maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Maintains compliance with all company policies, procedures and standards of conduct
  • Performs other duties as assigned


Qualifications:

Education:

  • High School diploma or GED/Equivalent (required)
  • Electrical apprenticeship or 2-year degree (preferred)

Experience:

  • 5+ years commercial/industrial Electrician (required)
  • 10+ years commercial/industrial Electrician (preferred)

Licensure:

  • Current Valid Drivers License must be maintained (required)
  • Electrician Journeyman (preferred)

Certification:

  • Kentucky Society of Healthcare Engineers (KSHE) Safe Day One (preferred)
