Job DescriptionThe Occupational Therapist provides a variety of medical services to help patients who have limited abilities establish, develop and/ or maintain the ability to complete daily living or work activates self-care tasks, and leisure activities due to illness, injuries, and disabilities in a variety of age groups to include: infant (birth to 1 year), Pediatric (1 year to 12 years), Adolescence (13-17 years), Adult (18-64 years), and Geriatric ( 65 years and above). Through regular therapy sessions, Occupational Therapists work one-on-one with patients, focusing on their individual needs to help them achieve improved quality of life and a since of independence. Occupational therapy concentrates on improving the physical, mental, social and emotional sources of patient's disabilities.Responsibilities:Evaluates levels of function and disability and creating and carrying out individualized treatment plans addressing specific functional needs and personal goalsComplete administrative .tasks including documenting billing information and keeping timely and accurate records of initial evaluations, diagnoses, treatment progress and any treatment plan notes as required by law and hospital policy and proceduresDevelop and implement purposeful goals for assigned patientsAssist patients in performing all types of activities, ranging from using a computer to caring for daily needs, such as dressing; cooking and eating and showing patients how to use adaptive equipment/assistive devicesIdentify and reviews treatment plans and assess patient performance to modify, change, or write new OT ProgramsPatient and family education/training, in addition to counseling individuals and families on ways to cope with functional impairments and disabilitiesTake responsibility for care given to patient by support staff, which includes orienting, instructing, and directing work activities of assistants, students, techsConfer with physician and other practitioners to integrate OT with other aspects of patient's health careMaintain a current state licensure by completing licensing board and state requirementsComply with federal and state occupational therapy regulationsMaintain legal and accreditation compliance by adhering to policy positions concerning federal, state, and local regulations and Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare organizations (JACHO) standardsMaintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedure, rules, regulations and adhering to infection control policies and protocolsDemonstrate understanding of the obligation to preserve the confidentiality of customer and staff health and financial information and circumstancesApply DRH Standards of Behavior and exhibit behaviors consistent with DRH core values.Performs other related duties as assignedShift: 1Hours: Monday-Friday, 8a-5p, 80hrs ppType: Full TimeCategory: ClinicalRequirementsMaster's or Doctorate degree from a four-year college or university; at least one year related experience preferred. Current Oklahoma State licensure. BLS for Healthcare Providers CPR and AED Certification required. Medical and Religious Exemptions are available upon request.***This position requires respirator and fit testing. Required testing will be performed on all team members at risk for exposure to airborne infectious diseases, droplet producing procedures, or any caustic chemicals.
