Performs echocardiographic testing and procedures in a hospital setting. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Performs such testing as 2-Dimensional Echocardiography, Stress Echocardiography, Dobutamine Stress Echocardiography, Contrast Echocardiography, Transesophageal Echocardiography, Bubble studies. Demonstrates competency in ensuring patient safety at all times. Effectively communicates with patients, family members, hospital staff and physicians. Provides appropriate patient care and anticipates patient/family needs and comfort. Abides by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability privacy and security regulations regarding all aspects of Protected Health Information (PHI). Serves a population newborn through geriatric. Required to participate in rotating call schedule with a 30 minute response time. Required to participate in rotating holiday schedule. MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED: Knowledge of cardiac sonography. Basic computer skills Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED: Competent in contrast usage. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Graduate of approved medical sonography program PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 1 year experience REQUIRED LICENSE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION: Registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography in the field of cardiology (RDCS/RCS) or within 6 months of hire.
