Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the general direction of the Vice President of Ambulatory Clinical Operations, and in collaboration with the Director of Clinical Informatics, the Clinical Informatics Trainer is responsible to establish a training program to improve efficiency and satisfaction with the Epic EHR and established workflows. The Clinical Informatics Trainer works closely with clinicians and staff across all Foundation departments to optimize effective use of systems. Provides customer service, troubleshooting, training and maintenance. Must be able to work extended hours and/or flexible hours as needed to meet committed project dates. Must be self-directed and able to work autonomously in a professional and productive manner.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Licensure/Certification:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred
  • Current certification in Epic Inpatient or Epic Ambulatory, preferred
  • *Must meet al DMV requirements listed below
Knowledge:
  • Experience implementing clinically oriented software solutions
  • Experience with clinical applications sufficient to determine specifications and training needs is required
  • Understanding of healthcare operations and structure, use of information system applications in the healthcare environment and current trends and strategies in healthcare and their applications to information technologies is required
  • Experience in developing and/or providing instruction regarding clinical software applications is preferred
  • Experience working with a variety of end-users, including clinical staff, physicians, management and vendors, is strongly preferred
  • Over one year experience in healthcare clinical practice environment including experience with healthcare information systems.
Skills:
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills with clinical software programs/applications is required
  • Skill and experience in facilitating teams and enlisting cooperation
  • Skill and experience in prioritizing multiple projects and objectives
  • Ability to write and verbally present clear, concise status reports on projects, customers and issues
  • Ability to communicate, analyze and resolve problems systematically


*Note: Requires employees to drive at least once per pay period. Candidates must possess and supply proof of: a current CA Driver's License, a clean DMV printout and Auto Insurance coverage with a minimum of $50,000 per person/$100,000 per occurrence (or a combined single limit of $100,000) and property damage coverage in an amount not less than $50,000 per occurrence.
