Relocation assistance and temporary housing if needed. Please note this bonus is not available to current MaineHealth employees or prior employees that have been separated for less than 6 months.

Our lab is a highly complex fast moving Blood Bank servicing a level 1 trauma center, large oncology, cardiac, OB and neonatal divisions, and Barbara Bush Children's Hospital.

We have a great team and are a reference lab for all the other Maine Health system hospitals.

Position Summary

As a Medical Laboratory Scientist, Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician you will:

Independently perform and monitor laboratory testing of patient specimens according to established

- procedures and regulatory requirements.

Confirm, interpret, correlate and report normal and abnormal patient results.

Recognize technical, instrumental and/or physiological problems and initiate resolutions.

Assume responsibility for accuracy, quality control and required instrument maintenance.

May provide training of laboratory and/or other health care personnel as directed.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

Education: For Medical Technologist :

Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory, Chemical, Physical, or Biological Science required.

License/Certifications:

Certification as a Medical Technologist (or equivalent) or as a categorical technologist (e.g., C, H, I, BB, M) by a recognized professional organization (e.g., ASCP, AMT).

Certification is required within 6 months of hire.

Experience: N/A

Must be able to work any shift, holiday and/or weekend, and travel among company sites as needed.

Education:

For Medical Laboratory Technician:

Associates Degree in Medical Laboratory Technician

License/Certifications :

Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician by a recognized professional organization (e.g, ASCP/AMT). Certification is required within 6 months of hire.

Experience:

N/A

Must be able to work any shift, holiday and/or weekend, and travel among company sites as needed.
