Job Summary: As a Sonographer with Obstetric and Vascular specialization, you will play a crucial role in our healthcare team by performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures on patients. You will be responsible for capturing high-quality images and conducting preliminary analyses to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with obstetric and vascular conditions. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge and expertise in both obstetric and vascular ultrasound techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obstetric Ultrasound:
- Conduct obstetric ultrasound examinations to monitor fetal development, growth, and overall health.
- Assess and document the gestational age, size, position, and movement of the fetus.
- Detect and evaluate any abnormalities or complications during pregnancy.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to communicate findings and assist in patient care decisions.
- Vascular Ultrasound:
- Perform vascular ultrasound studies to evaluate blood flow, circulation, and vascular disorders.
- Identify and assess the presence of blood clots, arterial blockages, or other vascular abnormalities.
- Measure blood flow velocity and pressure gradients.
- Provide detailed reports of vascular findings for diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Patient Care and Safety:
- Ensure patient comfort, safety, and confidentiality during ultrasound examinations.
- Explain procedures and answer patient questions.
- Maintain and adhere to infection control protocols and safety standards.
- Equipment Maintenance:
- Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring its proper functionality.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and coordinate with the appropriate department for equipment repairs.
- Record Keeping:
- Accurately record patient information, images, and examination results.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date patient records.
- Continuing Education:
- Stay current with developments in ultrasound technology and diagnostic techniques.
- Pursue continuing education and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field.
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification with a specialization in Obstetrics and Vascular.
- State licensure or certification as required by the state regulations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
