We are team-oriented, caring and honest.JOB SUMMARYPerforms packaging, manipulative, repetitive, or other non-discretionary tasks, while assisting and while under the direct supervision and control of a California Registered Pharmacist. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Assists Registered Pharmacist in dispensing of prescriptions, including removing drug(s) from stock, counting, filling or pouring pharmaceuticals, placing product into container and labeling according to federal and state laws and the facility's established policies and procedures. Gives Registered Pharmacist all prescriptions to be checked, verified and initialed before dispensing. Puts stickers on drug containers received daily from wholesalers and then put away on the pharmacy shelves. Hands out filled prescription accurately to the residents at the pharmacy window and logs in Signature log sheet. Also helps residents at the window with refill requests and other concerns. Answers incoming phone calls to address the needs of residents or staff; takes messages for the pharmacist or Director of Pharmacy. Collects all prescription orders and delivers filled prescriptions to the nursing stations throughout the facility if directed. Processes refill and new orders in pharmacy computer software if directed. Ensures that Pharmacy has an adequate supply of prescription vials, bottles, and labels and notifies Director of Pharmacy if supply is low. Maintains a good working relationship with co-workers and medical staff. Regular attendance. Checks dating of all pharmacy inventories on the shelves periodically and pulls out any expired drugs. Files all pharmacy records in an orderly manner. Puts away the drugs received daily from the wholesalers on the pharmacy shelves Performs other similar, related or logical duties as assigned by the Director of Pharmacy. Requirements Any combination of education and experience that would provide the necessary knowledge and abilities listed, typically:- Current California Registered Pharmacy Technician License in good standing. Speaks and writes fluent English. Types at a reasonable speed. As part of our commitment to health and safety for staff and residents, we require staff to be vaccinated for COVID-19 with booster.
