Community Bridges, Inc. We currently seek a Nurse Educator that will office out if our Tucson office.

Summary: The Nurse Educator is responsible for assisting in developing, conducting & evaluating organizational nurse training programs. Conducts class & individual training through in-service, clinical supervision programs, monitors the orientation tracks, new graduate residence program & training status of employees, as well as the continuing education for nurses, students & other clinical staff as required. Serves as a resource person to staff & management. Oversees the mentorship program & provides guidance for patient educational programs. Performs administrative duties as needed, plans a monthly calendar for education activities, & serves on special committees as needed.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include the following:

Assists in the development & directs nurse orientation tracks & programs, in-services & continuing education for the nursing & other staff as needed throughout the organization.

Conducts classes &/or provides individual instruction.

Provides/Oversees the Clinical Supervision Program for Nurses.

Develops objectives for each in-service & evaluates presentation & teaching material through staff input & suggestions.

Interacts professionally with the nursing staff & nursing leadership to determine specific educational needs & to coordinate educational programs to meet those needs.

Ability to develop instructional materials; set-up & demonstrate patient care equipment.

Assists with supervising nurse preceptor program; coordinates & supervises all student activities on the units.

Assists with the coordination of performance improvement & continuous quality improvement activities as needed.

Performs continuous evaluations of training needs; determines effectiveness of educational programs.

Assists the Training & Education Department with organization-wide education projects.

Documents staff attendance at in services; ensures educational requirements, organization requirements & standards are met on an annual basis by all nursing staff members in collaboration with the nursing leadership team.

Responsible for Nursing Orientation of new staff members; oversees evaluation of skill competencies during the 90-day probationary period; makes recommendations for professional development plans & readiness for promotion where applicable.

Evaluates & documents staff performance of clinical skills.

Assists with planning & coordination of conferences, seminars & skills fairs; uses community resources.

Assists nurse managers in coordination with compliance & quality management with the planning & implementation of staff development programs.

Videotapes seminars, classes & demonstrations for future use.

Ability to serve as a resource person, consultant to nursing & medical staff, students & other staff members by utilizing Policy & Procedure.

May perform clinical duties if needed, & other duties as assigned.

Education &/or Experience: Degree in Nursing Master’s Degree in Nursing Education Preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Registered Nurse Licensed in the state of Arizona

Certification for Nurse Educators (CNE) preferred, willingness & ability to gain a nursing certification within three (3) years of hire.

Valid Arizona Driver’s License
