Location: HYBRID in Richmond, VA, Baltimore, MD, or Charlotte, NC

Job Description:
The scrum master is a member of a product team who has a primary responsibility to help the self-organizing, self-managing team achieve its goals.

  • Facilitates the scrum processes, protects the team from interference, and helps remove impediments so that the team can deliver the sprint goal.
  • Foster an environment for high-performing team dynamics, continuous process flow, and relentless improvement.
  • Plans, leads, organizes, and motivates one or more cross functional teams of medium to medium-high complexity and visibility.
  • Develops, tracks, and communicates team's agile adoption and progress metrics, including velocity, burn-down and cycle time
  • Coordinates and facilitates sprint planning and task definition, sprint execution, impediment removal and tracking, sprint review, and retrospectives.
  • Works with Product Owners to support short and long-term release planning and keep work backlog healthy and prepared for execution. Creates team working agreements.
  • May lead collaboration sessions with internal clients on medium scale projects to formulate creative and practical solutions to application challenges.
  • Drives development of release and sprint roadmaps
  • Partners with project and release managers on production deployment activities
  • Ability to coach the team on Agile practices and adherence to Agile methodology.
  • General knowledge of department/business lines, and / or System operations, policies, procedures and technologies.
Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience with 6 to 9+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM), PMI-ACP and/or other Agile related certifications required
Desired:
  • Knowledge of SAFe methodology is desired
  • Experience with Jira
