Warehouse Associate

CoWorx Staffing Services has an excellent opportunity for Warehouse Associates in the Brookfield, CT area

The Distribution Center Associate performs activities such as verification and receiving of incoming shipments, handling and disposition of materials; fulfilling customer orders, showroom transfers and samples for shipment; while keeping warehouse inventory organized, clean and equipment operational. These activities are essential to the successful operation of the warehouse.

Responsibilities:

• Reads and takes action on order or transfer fulfillment, and follows oral instructions on materials or containers to be moved, gathered, or distributed, type and quantity of product to be shipped, and packing requirements, such as cartons, pallets or wrapping material to be used.
• Fulfills orders from stock; selects and stages items, parts, or products to be shipped to customers, and checks customer orders for accuracy, add-ons, or special items.
• Arranges articles in cartons, crates or pallets to prevent breakage or damage, seals and marks package.
• Attaches identifying labels, packing slips, Bills of Lading to product shipments and marks information correctly on outer and inner cartons and/or pallets as orders are filled with attention to detail on accurate placement of labels
• Binds carton pallets and crates with shipping tape and shrink-wrap and straps where necessary.
• Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, or product code.
• Cleans work area, and contributes to maintaining an organized warehouse. Takes periodic cycle counts to verify inventory levels, and correct discrepancies.
• Adheres to all safety procedures and recommendations provided by Waterworks for the safety of all warehouse personnel.

Desired Background/Skills:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and two to four years of related experience and/or training in distribution/logistics, shipping/receiving, manufacturing, or other warehouse environment.
• To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge, or demonstrate the ability to be able to use and understand the use of, personal computer applications, and various software including but not limited to, RF scanning equipment, FedEx Ship Manager, and Microsoft Office.
• Oracle JDE Enterprise 1 experience a plus.
• Must have good organization and interpersonal skills. Effective oral and written communication skills are essential.
