Business Analyst

[[ Job Summary:Responsible for providing regional workforce intelligence for internal and external audiences. Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with employers of high demand industries, economic developers, chambers of commerce and other business entities. Build trust among stakeholders and convey the Board's value and services available. Increase employer engagement and strategic partnerships with the goal of increasing access to high-wage, high-demand careers and developing approaches that are responsive to employers needs. [Days/Hrs. Mon-Fri 8am-5pm, some evenings and weekends. [ ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS ]{new="" roman="" times=""}]{new="" roman="" times=""} ]{new="" roman="" times=""}]{new="" roman="" times=""} Develops and maintains relationships with new and existing businesses, with special emphasis on high demand industries. Collaborates to organize meetings/focus groups to gauge needs of area employers and training providers and implement action plans as appropriate. Represents the Board at formal and informal meetings with state, federal and local agencies serving on chamber committees and advisory committees. Builds relationships with the region's school districts regarding career and technology programs and career pathways to meet industry needs to connect education and industry. Researches, compiles, analyzes, and presents regional labor market data. Prepares labor market and wage analysis as requested by organizations such as economic development, chambers of commerce, local employers, and education institutions. Updates monthly Local Area Unemployment Statistics (LAUS) report, quarterly economic development report, and other periodic labor market data when released by Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) and other sources. Creates labor market information releases and disseminates this information to target audiences. Understands and effectively communicates to employers the benefits of collaborating with Workforce Solutions Deep East Texas to address industry and employer needs. Understands and communicates opportunities for employers such as the TWC Skills Development Fund, Skills for Small Business, Texas Industry Partners Grant, and others. Serves as Rapid Response Coordinator to assist employers and employees in response to notices of business closures or layoffs. Coordinates and collaborates on special projects and assist in the development and creation of Business Services reports. Prepares and edits workforce e-news for distribution to employers and other stakeholders. Manages distribution lists and databases. Assists with board outreach efforts such as updates to the website, social media channels, other public relations activities, including media pitches and taking/editing images, and storytelling, including writing articles, blogs and developing videos. Researches topics and resources for use in the outreach efforts. Performs related work as assigned.
