Job SummaryTo provide direct rehab care in occupational therapy to residents uponphysician referral and in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations andfacility standards. QualificationsMust be a graduate of an accredited program in occupational therapyMust be currently registered/licensed in the state of KY. Must maintain active license in good standing throughout employment1 year experience in post acute care or LTC setting preferredCPR certification preferred or required completion upon hire. CPR certification must remain current throughout employmentDuties and Responsibilities:Act as a liaison with residents, families, support departments, insurance companies etc to adequately plan for resident needsDemonstrate proper body mechanics at all timesMust possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such actionsMust be knowledgeable of occupational therapy practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations and guidelines governing occupational therapy functions in the post-acute facilityMust have the ability to implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of occupational therapy departmentMust perform proficiently in all applicable competency areasMaintains professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etcMaintains confidentiality of all proprietary and / or confidential informationMust understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance proceduresDisplay integrity and professionalismMust be able to follow occupational treatment plans for residentsMust be able to establish, assess, and modify realistic, measurable,timely and functional goalsMust be able to oversee and evaluate care provided by OTAs, RehabAides, and studentsMust be able chart appropriately and timelyMust be able to utilize software appropriately and accuratelyMust exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towardresidents, families, colleaguesMust be able to assist in the evacuation of residentsMust demonstrate dependable, regular attendanceMust be able to concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgmentMust be able to communicate and function productively within aninterdisciplinary teamMust be able to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach,and move intermittently during working hoursMust practice good personal hygieneMust be able to read, write, speak and understand the English languageMust be able to lift, carry, push/pull a minimum of 35 lbs
