Responsibilities The incumbent operated ultrasound and related imaging equipment to produce diagnostic ultrasound studies and images according to protocols established by the Department Chairman. Demonstrates competency in care for neonate pediatric adolescent adult and geriatric patients. Technologist is required to participate in the departments call schedule to provide weeknight weekend and holiday coverage. Licensure: American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or board eligible ARMDS- preferred BLS Training: PACS Medical Terminology anatomy and physiology relating to ultrasound and medical imaging. Ultrasound physics and instrumentation. Ultrasound Technologist I- ARDMS registry eligible Ultrasound Technologist II- two ARDMS registries Ultrasound Technologist III- three or more ADRMS registries Special Skills: Perform diagnostic ultrasound and vascular procedures with a high level of expertise. Distinguish between normal and abnormal pathology Work independently adjusting priorities according to changing clinical situations. Prioritize work. Communicate well with others Deal effectively with ill and agitated patients. Review and understand medical records Work independently.
