Mount Aloysius College Board Extends Presidents Contract

Cresson, Pa. The Mount Aloysius College Board of Trustees has announced a contract extension for President John N. McKeegan, J.D. for the next five years through 2028. McKeegan joined the College in 2020 and is the 15th president of the College.
This decision reflects our confidence in John, who will continue demonstrating diligence, dedication, and his love of the College every day, said Adam Sheetz, President of the Mount Aloysius College Board of Trustees. John has tremendous passion for the Colleges mission and values, and the Board is proud to recognize his leadership, and the unmatched support for our students he has championed during his first three years.
During McKeegans tenure, Mount Aloysius has seen its largest-ever incoming class (with 9% growth in Fall 2022); earned Academic Center of Excellence designation for its cybersecurity program from the NSA/Department of Homeland Security; completed a $15 million residence hall upgrade; initiated its Future Heroes program to address the need for more nurses through affordable education; launched a $7 million library renovation; and achieved national recognition as a Great College to Work For. McKeegan also oversaw the launch of the Colleges new brand, Elevated, which has won six national and global awards.
I am honored to continue to serve as the 15th president of Mount Aloysius College and grateful for the Boards confidence, said McKeegan. It is a privilege to work alongside such a dedicated group of faculty, staff, and administrators, and a blessing to serve in support of our incredible students.
Before his presidency, McKeegan was Vice President for Institutional Advancement and General Counsel at Linfield University, where he served for 10 years.
Born and raised in central Pennsylvania, McKeegan serves on the JARI Board of Directors, the Blair Chamber Executive Roundtable, the Cambria Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Hollidaysburg Rotary, and is a parishioner at St. Michael the Archangel. McKeegans wife, Theresa, is also active in a number of community groups, including the GFWC Hollidaysburg Area Womens Club and the Hollidaysburg Arts Council, and is a Mercy Associate.
McKeegan earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, with Honors in English, from Bucknell University, and a Juris Doctor from the University of Notre Dame. He also completed the Harvard Graduate School of Education Institute for Educational Management.
