We are currently seeking a FullTime Phlebotomistfor a medical office located in Houston, Texas.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Collect blood from pediatricpatients by venipuncture and capillary techniques with specimen integrity and without undue injury to the patient. Reviews labels against lab orders ensuring Test orderedcorrectly. Proper handling of testing materials and packing for transport according to guidelines issued by the laboratory. Adhere to federal and state compliance regulations, company policies and procedures, accrediting agency policies and procedures, and applicable healthcare fraud, waste, and abuse laws. All other duties as assigned. Maintain satisfactory appearance of the blood collection area. Maintain inventory of supplies. Label, centrifuge and prepare specimens for transport. Monitor test results and follow the workflow established by the practice within compliance requirements. Collect throat and nasal, nasal mid-turbinate and nasopharyngeal samples. Be proficient in all necessary EMR Procedures. Adhere to universal precautions and isolation procedures. Enhances professional growth and development through participation in training opportunities andmeetings. Requirements include:

Minimum of 3 years' experience collecting blood on pediatric patients. High School diploma or better. Current BLS certification. Must be reliable and dependable. Experience with nasal, nasal mid-turbinate, nasopharyngeal, and oral swab specimen collections. Display compassionate, ethical, and professional demeanor. Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Must be computer proficient, have attention to detail, accuracy, and excellent organizational skills. Have exemplary verbal and written communication skills.
